Tooth pain may be a sign of suffering from “tooth worm”, as confirmed by a dentist, who publishes awareness videos from time to time on the “Tik Tok” application.
According to the British newspaper, The Sun, the American dentist, Ben Winters, answered a patient’s question about a small worm-like object that was removed from his mouth, according to Sky News.
“It looks like a worm, but it’s actually called a dental nerve,” Winters explained.
He added, “Initially, this person’s teeth are so broken that they need a root canal,” noting that “the root canal is a treatment method that aims to repair and save a tooth that has been badly damaged or contaminated instead of removing it.”
He continued, “The method aims to remove the entire nerve structure from the tooth, and when that happens, that small body that looks like a worm is removed, it is in fact a small fleshy white nerve thing.”
Winters said root canal surgery can sometimes be painful, but it is a treatment that relieves dental pain.
