Simona Halep is learning how to be a tennis player again. Returning from suspension, the Romanian played her first match on the circuit since August 2022. Former world number 1 Simona Halep lost against the Spaniard Paula Badosa (1-6, 6-4, 6-3) at first round on WTA 1000 in Miami (Florida).

A losing but encouraging return. Simona Halep appeared with a big smile at a press conference, relieved and happy to return to her life as a high-level athlete. The Romanian is restructuring sportingly. For this, she chose a new coach to support her, the Spaniard Carlos Martinez.
