The American Simone Biles made history at the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in the Belgian city of Antwerp. Now, on her return to the international level, Biles made her debut at the World Cup in Antwerp and her performances on all the equipment in the qualifying round made her the top favorite to win her sixth absolute world title. She added a total of 2,266 points more than Brazilian gymnast Rebeca Andrade, artistic gymnastics world champion in 2022, although those numbers are not carried over to the final phase.
Biles obtained 15,266 points on vault (with her new Yurchenko with a double backflip) for a total of 58,865 points, against 56,599 for Andrade, Olympic runner-up. Now it will be her turn to endorse her art in the team final, which will take place on Wednesday and where the United States will seek the seventh consecutive title.
