Scottish rock band Simple Minds will release thier latest live album, “Live in the City of Diamonds,” on April 25, 2025. The album captures the band’s electrifying performance at Amsterdam‘s Ziggo Dome, showcasing their enduring catalog of hits and fan favorites.
The “Live in the City of Diamonds” setlist includes iconic tracks such as “Waterfront,” “Love Song,” “New Gold Dream,” “Promised you A miracle,” “Someone Somewhere (In Summertime),” “Alive and Kicking,” “Sanctify Yourself,” and the fan-favorite “(Don’t You) Forget about Me.”
“It was a truly special night,and we’re thrilled to be able to share it with our fans through this live album,” said Simple Minds frontman jim Kerr. “The energy in the Ziggo Dome was incredible, and we hope this album captures the magic of that night.”
The album will be available in two formats: a deluxe 2CD set in a hardcover ‘mediabook’ package containing 24 tracks, and a 2LP vinyl package (available in black and ‘clear-with-glitter’ options) featuring 18 tracks.

First off, tell us about the ‘Live in the City of diamonds’ album and what fans can expect?**
Well, it’s a live album recorded at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, and we’re really excited about it. we think it captures the energy and spirit of the night perfectly. Fans can expect to hear all their favorite tracks,from classics like ‘Waterfront’ and ‘Don’t You (Forget About Me)’ to deeper cuts that we don’t always get to play.It’s a true representation of what a Simple Minds live show is all about.
What made you choose Amsterdam and the Ziggo Dome for this live recording?
Amsterdam has always been a special place for us. The fans there are incredible, and the Ziggo Dome is just an amazing venue. The acoustics are fantastic, and the atmosphere always feels electric. We wanted to capture that energy on a live album, and we couldn’t think of a better place to do it then Amsterdam.
The album features some of Simple Minds’ most iconic tracks. Were there any challenges in selecting the setlist?
It’s always a challenge to fit all our favorites into a setlist, but we wanted to represent our career as fully as possible. We also wanted to balance the classics with some deeper cuts to give fans a fresh experience, even if they’ve seen us before. we think we’ve got a great mix of old and new.

We understand that everyone likes to consume music in diffrent ways. Some fans prefer the convenience of streaming, others want the tangible experience of a vinyl record, and some still want the best of both worlds with a CD. We wanted to make sure there was something for everyone, and that’s why we’re offering the album in multiple formats.
looking back on Simple Minds’ incredible career, what keeps you and the band motivated after all these years?
The fans, really. their love and support meen everything to us. We also still love making music and playing live. As long as we’re having fun and people are enjoying our shows,we’ll keep doing what we do.
