Since blue screen “System” process with 10% CPU usage

by Alexandra Hartman Editor-in-Chief
Hallo!

Ryzen 5 3600, RX 590, 16 GB RAM, Samsung 870 Evo 1 TB SATA, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, Win 10 Pro 21H2

Today I suddenly had a blue screen on the desktop with a subsequent automatic restart 1-2 minutes following switching on the PC when it was idle. I actually just saw it out of the corner of my eye. I only noticed one 🙁 smiley and that the blue screen wasn’t full screen, but centered and with a black border on the outside (if that’s important).

In Control Panel>System and Security>Security and Maintenance>Issue Details, there is the following:
The computer has restarted following a fatal error. The error code was: 0x00000005 (0xffffe40c7ac85080, 0xffffe40c815b2080, 0x0000000000000001, 0xffffe40c7ad37080). A full image has been saved to: C:WindowsMEMORY.DMP. Report ID: 5a1f6e73-6e26-40c0-aaaa-d3553f60d438.

I can’t find anything particularly meaningful on the internet regarding the error codes. Do any of you have any idea what happened here?

The blue screen only appeared once, but I noticed that in “absolute idle” (desktop, only task manager open, no mouse movements) the CPU load increases from 0-1% to a constant 10% following a while. This 10% seems to be consumed by the “system” process. If the mouse is moved, the CPU usage immediately drops back to ~1%.

I hope you can help me here.
Thank you in advance and mfg
