And after many speculated at the time that the reason for her retirement from singing was her relationship with Turki Al Sheikh, head of the General Authority for Entertainment in Saudi Arabia, where the Egyptian broadcaster Mohamed Al-Gheity had previously announced their marriage.
The singer wrote, justifying her retirement: “I went through bad psychological conditions after the death of my beloved aunt, and she was close to my heart… Also, the circumstances of my engagement’s dissolution, which affected my psychological state and prompted me to decide to retire.”
