Looking back over the past year, what do you realize you’ve “gained” and “lost”?
– I always think, gain or loss will depend on how people feel and receive. The Year of the Tiger is a year where I gain more and lose nothing. I have more shows, loved by the audience when I return in the gameshow “Mask Singer”. Really, I didn’t expect that after nearly all these years, I would still be loved and supported.

Some viewers still feel regret when Luong Bich Huu has not had a “hit” like the golden age, do you have concerns about this?
– Those comments are the motivation for me to try and make efforts. In 2023, I will definitely release more new songs than ever before, maybe there will be a hit song. Most recently, this February, I will release an MV. Other music projects are also in the “pregnancy” process.
The current music market has changed a lot compared to before, how do you keep your color while keeping up with market trends?
– I think that just keep doing the best you can, what are your strengths, you keep them, what new things you have to adapt to, you need to learn. Music regardless of age, generation, or any other reason is a barrier. Every artist has their own audience.

Do you have any good tours this Lunar New Year? The Chinese New Year is not much different from the Vietnamese Tet.
– This year, I spend all my time with my family, not accepting any shows during the Lunar New Year. I still remember the memory of the first time celebrating Tet away from home by running a show, when sitting in the car listening to the fireworks to welcome New Year’s Eve, I missed home, missed my parents and burst into tears. Because of that, this year, I want to spend the whole New Year with my family.
Chinese New Year living in Vietnam is no different, I have prepared a big peach branch and lots of jam cakes, pots of chrysanthemums, sunflowers, many calligraphy couplets, gongs to hang around the house.

Luong Bich Huu was born in 1984, into a Chinese-Vietnamese family in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2003, she participated in the contest “Ho Chi Minh City Television Singing” and reached the semi-finals. She was noticed by musician Nguyen Ha and invited to the company. In 2004, the female singer joined the “boss” Quang Huy and joined the group HAT with the first three members: Luong Bich Huu, Pham Quynh Anh, Thu Thuy. The group achieved much success in the music market.
In 2011, she had a stage fire incident, which resulted in severe burns. The singer had to rest for a long time, psychologically affected. In 2014, the love story between her and singer Khanh Don attracted attention. However, at the end of 2015, he confirmed they had broken up. Not long after, Luong Bich Huu gradually disappeared from music. She lived abroad for a while, being a single mother. Luong Bich Huu’s appearance in the gameshow “Mask Singer” is said to be the most impressive comeback in the past year.
