Eastern Illinois men’s golf returns to action for its third tournament of the fall season as the Panthers travel to play at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will be played at the Par 71, 6.954 yard Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois.
Play for the 16-team field opens on Monday with 36 holes followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Teams include host SIUE, Eastern Illinois, Bellarmine, Bradley, Green Bay, Idaho, Lindenwood, Missouri State, Morehead State, Murray State, New Orleans, Omaha, Southeastern Louisiana, Southern Indiana, UT Martin and Weber State.
EIU has been led this season by fifth year player Keegan Gowin with a low round of 73 and a season stroke average of 75.6.
Freshmen Ian Hollander and Michael Madayag have also played in both events so far this season as EIU played with Gowin and four freshmen in the season opening event at Iowa. Last week at the UT Martin Grover Page the Panthers added Juan Pablo Hernandez and Trey Oswald to the playing line-up.
