Compared to the starting eleven against Portugal on Thursday, Jon Dahl Tomasson makes several changes, something he was open about during the meeting.
– It has been the plan all along to make several changes. WE need to see which players are capable of playing the way we want. We also need to have healthy competition in the squad, he explains and continues:
– We are still in the preparation phase for the autumn. The result is of course always important, but we will also be able to look at the players individually.
In the central midfield, Samuel Gustafson and Simon Olsson are trusted to form a new duo.
– There are two players who did not start together and did not play much together before. One is always curious about how they will manage the trust. Can they follow the principles that we want to act according to and how do they communicate with each other? It will be interesting to see, says Jon Dahl Tomasson, who also gives Gustaf Nilsson the trust from start to finish.
The attacking players of Dejan Kulusevski, Emil Forsberg, Alexander Isak and Gustaf Nilsson will try to give the Albanian back line a challenge.
– We always try to attack with five players and those players can move quite freely, the game should be fluid but we always need a player in each position. It is difficult to defend against, says Tomasson.
Sweden-Albania kicks off at 19.00 and the match is broadcast on TV6/Viaplay.
