Mom I missed the plane ! A few days before Christmas, Casper’s misadventure recalls those of Kevin in the cult film series. On December 21, this six-year-old child had to take the plane from Philadelphia (Pennsylvania, United States) for the first time to join his grandmother in the south of the country in Florida, in Fort Myers. But the company put him on the wrong flight.
Casper therefore landed in Orlando, in the right state, but 200 kilometers too north, says his grandmother Maria Ramos to local channel Wink TV. The little boy’s mother had handed him over to the company in Philadelphia, but he was not there upon arrival at the Fort Myers airport. “I ran onto the plane and asked the stewardess, “Where is my grandson? It was entrusted to you in Phildaphia!” She said “We didn’t have any children with us.”»
The company recognizes an “error”
In a press release, Spirit Airlines (an ultra-low-cost company that operates domestic flights in the United States) acknowledged “a mistake» from his staff, without specifying how it could have happened. “Did they let him ride alone?», worried Maria Ramos.
«The child remained under the supervision of Spirit Airlines personnel at all times, assures the company. As soon as we realized the mistake, we took every step to communicate with the family and reunite them.» An internal investigation has been opened. In Fort Myers, Casper’s grandmother was, however, able to retrieve his suitcase, which she put on the right plane.
