Six years without Raymond Kopa

He played for Real Madrid from 1956 to 1959 and won three European Cups, two La Liga and a Latin Cup.

On March 3, 2017, the Madridismo bid farewell to one of its great legends. Raymond Kopa died at the age of 85, but his memory remains vivid as that of one of the great stars of the team of the first European Cups. The Frenchman was part of Real Madrid from 1956 to 1959 and in that period won the biggest continental competition three times.

Kopa is one of the members of one of the greatest attacks in football history alongside Rial, Puskas, Gento and Di Stéfano. His track record as madridista is made up of three European Cups, two Liga and a Latin Cup. At Real Madrid, he played 103 games, scored 30 goals and won the 1958 Ballon d’Or. He is also a key figure in the history of Stade de Reims and the French selection.
