Students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Theater, belonging to the Institute of Arts (IA), of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo (UAEH), held the “Sixth Meeting for World Theater Day.”

The main objective was to bring the students of this program closer to different performing arts professionals, learn from their experiences in the world of work and receive feedback on what they learned in the classrooms, as well as learn about current theater proposals.

José de Jesús Islas Ambriz, coordinator of the Academic Theater Area, announced that the meeting is organized by and for the students, “we as area managers and teachers support the students so that the meeting can be held in the better way, but it is the community that decides which activities will be carried out, they make the main arrangements, because in the end it is carried out by ensuring their interests around the performing arts.”

He explained that the main objective is to touch on some topics that do not come within the educational plan that the degree curriculum has: “within the performing arts, the spectrum of theater possibilities is wide, which is why they were in charge of looking for companies and creators who can explain dynamics that interest our students.”

During the meeting, around 70 guests participated in workshops, conferences, stage performances, theatrical experimentation, master classes and presentations. Which is reflected as a success in the academic training of students in topics of interest to them.
