Ski jumping: Granerud wins in Oberstdorf, Deschwanden disappoints

Halvor Egner Granerud won the first stage of the Four Hills Tournament on Thursday in Obersdorf. The only Swiss in the running, Gregor Deschwanden (37th) contented himself with a jump in this competition.

Author of a remarkable first jump (142.5 meters), Halvor Egner Granerud did more than withstand the shock in the final. He landed at 139 meters to offer himself at 26 his 15th success in the World Cup, the 1st as part of the prestigious Austro-German Tour.

Deschwanden far from the account

The Norwegian flew over the debates, ahead of his Polish dolphin Piotr Zyla by 13.4 points (132.5 and 137 meters). Leader of the World Cup and favorite of this Tour, Dawid Kubacki (140.5 and 136 meters) completes the podium. The Pole is already 17.5 points behind Halvor Egner Granerud.

Gregor Deschwanden for his part did not reach his minimum objective by knowing the elimination after the 1st round. He could not do better than 107.5 meters, bowing to Robert Johansson and clearly missing the 5th “lucky loser” ticket. The disappointment is great for the Lucerne, 10th on this same springboard 12 months earlier.
