Skull and Bones: Giant Sea Monsters Confirmed for Open World Pirate Game

2023-12-16 05:02:06

Let us remember that when announcing Skull and Bones, the developers promised to create an open world with a pirate theme and sea battles, as well as sea monsters designed to terrorize the lives of players. But since then, there have been no details or new information regarding the presence of these creatures in the game, leading many fans to think that Ubisoft has abandoned the idea.

Now we can say that Cthulhu fans can rest easy: giant sea monsters will indeed appear in the open seas of Skull and Bones. This information was confirmed by Ubisoft Singapore, the studio responsible for the development, as part of a presentation in Singapore.

Screenwriter Yang Guo explained that the game mixes realistic and fantasy elements – and one of them is the existence of such creatures. They will be determined to destroy any ship that gets in their way, so the developers recommend going in search of them only in the company of friends.

In addition, the developers announced one of the monsters that will appear in Skull and Bones shortly following launch: this is a giant monster with a reptilian appearance and a body with glowing parts. The rest seems to be kept under wraps for now, so we’ll just have to watch for now!

Skull and Bones is scheduled to release on February 16, 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
