Sleeping Dogs came out exactly 10 years ago on August 14, 2012. The game was originally released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. The remastered version is also available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. The game was inspired by a Chinese action movie and gave players a phenomenal chance to explore the streets of Hong Kong.
United Front Games developed the game and released it to critical acclaim. While it didn’t see the success of open-world giants like Grand Theft Auto and The Witcher 3, the game has carved out a unique identity for itself over the years.
Sleeping Dogs is about an undercover cop named Wei Shen. Wei is sent to infiltrate a Hong Kong triad called “Soon On Yee”. The developers have created a world similar to Hong Kong action movies. They have been working hard on a great combat system for Sleeping Dogs. Hand-to-hand combat is spectacular, fun and varied.
In this aspect, Sleeping Dogs outshines any of its competitors. However, the game is not limited to this combat system. Players have many weapons and vehicles at their disposal. All this leads to a great gaming experience.
Unfortunately, the game never received a full-fledged continuation. United Front Games closed in 2016.
