Hearty rock ‘n’ roll and punk with a pinch of black metal has actually always been a mixture that has really impressed me. That’s why I was very surprised that this likeable quartet from the far north had slipped through my fingers so far. Formed in 2010 by former Vreid guitarist That, three albums and two EPs have already been thrown onto the market and unfortunately have been criminally ignored by me up until now. Just why? All three albums hit my emotional nerve exactly and make my limp swing. This little euphoria is mainly due to her latest prank To the greatest extent possible responsible. But read for yourself!

The opener of Distance, Insight, is heralded by a soft whistle and then builds up to a pounding Black’n’roll anthem, with the Black Metal part in the croaking vocals of That emotional. The snappy hookline sets the stage for the rest of the album because of it shows Slegest a whole lot. Especially the outstanding one Abandonment and intoxication HERE impresses with its character and the ingenious heavy rock riffs. The guys really worked hard there and can score points with me right from the start because they’ve also upped the ante in terms of speed.

I was very surprised that it was already bar-jazz-heavy Riddle. Don’t be alarmed, the light saxophone elements in the middle part give the Doom number a chilled note. This song makes you want to sink deep into your favorite chair and relax for 4:44. Right after that, you have to stay seated and buckle up, because this is the album’s highlight. Is It You Life and To the greatest extent possible are probably the most creative thing the band has ever written. The uncomplicated melodies, the snotty riffs, the nasty vocals really pick me up and create a feeling that I felt when I got the debut of Throttle ceiling have had.

On top of that there is finally with Oh Baby a super cool Status Quo cover. Of course without the well-known solo in the song, but in their own way they made the song their own. In addition, the album was given a bass-heavy, earthy sound, making the music come across very naturally. So it can Distance more than let see.

Conclusion
Slegest
goes Heavy Rock, Rock´n´Roll, Punk and Black Metal and unite with Distance all in a harmonious style. The album is a source of strong songs and, despite the existing gloom, puts me in a good mood. Good music has to be heard, so I give an unconditional purchase recommendation and juicy 8,5 / 10
