Slovak actor Marcel Nemec has died. He was 52 years old. The website Aktuality.sk reported on his death with a reference to the actor’s close friend Kristína Tomková.
Marcel Nemec has been fighting an insidious cancer for over two years, recently he was unfortunately diagnosed with a new, aggressive tumor on his liver, which could not be operated on. The actor already knew that he didn’t have much time left.
Yet he was still smiling and full of optimism. He mainly wished for peace for his loved ones and a smile for everyone. Marcel Nemec was not only an actor, but also a musician and entertainer, he was a co-founder of the satirical-artist group Ján Kopyta. He said goodbye to the audience at the La Komika theater at the end of January, then withdrew into seclusion. He spent his last days with his family in Kremnica. Marcel Nemec often wrote about his illness on the social network.
In one of the posts, he openly talked about what his funeral should look like. “I want lots of colorful flowers and colorfully dressed, smiling guests. I don’t see leaving as an end, but as the beginning of something new. And at the same time, I see it as a celebration of my beautiful and love-filled life, which I lived in this dimension with a smile and surrounded by people with whom we love each other – and that there are not a few of them,” the German wrote at the time.
