The newest version of SmartGym arrived today with a barrage of new features for iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and watchOS 10 users. The aim of the update is to make the most of the new systems to create a more interactive and powerful experience.
One of the new features includes support for SharePlay on iPhone. Now, it is possible to start a workout and share the exercise sequence with friends, all in a simple and quick way, as if it were “magic”.
Additionally, SmartGym now supports On hold (StandBy), the iPhone’s new “rest mode”. SmartGym widgets have also been improved, now offering interactive options — another new feature introduced by Apple in iOS 17.
The update also includes new experiences on Dynamic Island (Dynamic Island) and Live Activities (Live Activities). Last but not least, you can now mirror active workout sessions between your iPhone and Apple Watch.
For Apple Watch users, SmartGym has undergone a redesign to take full advantage of watchOS 10 features. Muscle images are now dynamically generated, offering a personalized experience.
The workout screen has been redesigned to adhere to the watchOS 10 design, including new animations. Users can further customize the information displayed on their Smart Sets (Smart Stacks), choosing from a variety of options.
Activities on your Watch automatically sync with your iPhone, showing Live Activity on your Lock screen. App shortcuts have been improved for quick access to streaks, weekly progress, and more with one tap.
The experience isn’t limited to iPhone and Apple Watch; iPad users will also have access to new interactive widgets and Live Activities. Furthermore, with the arrival of the Health app (Health), it is possible to synchronize training data more completely.
