Beijing: An elderly man has been living at the airport for 14 years following being evicted by his family. Wei Jianko, 60, has been living in Terminal 2 at Beijing International Airport in China since 2008.

Wei told China Daily in an interview that he lost his job at the age of 40 and that no one was willing to give him a job later. “Relatives told me to quit smoking and drinking if I wanted to stay home. They must be paid 1,000 yuan, the monthly allowance provided by the government. So how do you buy alcohol and cigarettes? ” Wei asked.

The food items are bought at the market near the airport. Wei said he often has no idea regarding the time or the dates. In 2017, police took him to a house 20km away. But a few days later, Wei returned to the airport. Wei said he was kicked out of the house and was free at the airport.
