This category of heart patients cannot fast during Ramadan • Al Marsad Newspaper

Al-Marsad newspaper: A consultant in cardiology and arterial catheterization, Khaled Al-Nimr, revealed the categories of heart patients who are prohibited from fasting during the month of Ramadan.

Al-Nimr said during his interview with the “Sabah Al-Saudia” program: “The majority of heart patients are able to fast. In medical studies, 90% of heart patients are able to fast.”

He pointed out: “10% of heart patients cannot fast, and they are limited categories that do not exceed 5.” The first category is those who have severe heart failure, and those who have a recent stroke.

And he continued: “People who have severe narrowing of the arteries and have medications for 24 hours and their pressure is slightly low,” noting: “He who has uncontrolled pressure until his pressure stabilizes, and the last category of people who have pulmonary hypertension.”
