SNCB and Infrabel are recruiting 2,400 people: here are the profiles sought

Together, Infrabel and SNCB intend to hire some 2,400 people in 2023, we learned on Wednesday from the two railway companies.

To the SNCB, 1,600 positions are to be filled. The railway company seeks in particular to recruit:

– 350 train attendants

– a hundred profiles intended to work in stations (as deputy station managers, commercial agents) or for customer service

– 500 technical profiles to work in SNCB workshops

– 180 train drivers

– 100 agents for the Securail security service

There are also job vacancies for architects and profiles in construction or for lesser known and less visible positions, such as those in the beams, large parking areas where trains are prepared for their departure“, specifies the railway company in a press release. By the end of 2022, more than 300 people have already taken part in the selection process. “These new agents will therefore already be able to start working in the weeks and months to come: half of them will start this January“, adds the SNCB.

On his side, Infrabel is also looking for many technical profiles to maintain tracks, catenaries and signaling equipment. The rail manager intends to fill 800 vacancies, of which 450 relate more particularly to these profiles “highly demanded on the labor market”, affirms its spokesman, Thomas Baeken. The company also aims to hire:

– 200 employees for its signaling booths

– 150 others for its ICT, finance and human resources departments.

To fill their vacant positions, Infrabel and SNCB will conduct several recruitment campaigns during the year. Last year, 1,300 people had already joined SNCB and 800 other Infrabels.
