The SNCF plans to authorize the payment of train tickets in installments from the summer of 2023. This will not be possible for all journeys.
New at the SNCF: from the summer of 2023, it plans to authorize the payment of their tickets in several instalments. The railway company is setting up this payment facility in order to “facilitate access for all to train travel, including through means of payment”, specifies our colleagues from Parisian, Christophe Fanichet, CEO of SNCF Voyageurs
This possibility of split payment will only be available online.
Not available for all routes
This novelty would not apply to all journeys, it would only be available for journeys made by TGV, Ouigo or Intercité. “This will be offered for the largest order amounts, for example when booking for a family or a group” explains SNCF Voyageur.
The Parisian specifies that the SNCF will choose the financial company which will be responsible for ensuring payment in several instalments at the beginning of September. A test phase will then be organised.
