Soccer player Ki Seong-yong donated 2 billion won to World Vision to support children from disadvantaged groups in Korea and dream of soccer.

World Vision, an international relief and development NGO (Chairman Myung-Hwan Cho, right photo) announced on the 5th that it had received 2 billion won in donations from soccer player Ki Seong-Yong (left) for children from disadvantaged groups in Korea and those who dream of soccer.

Ki Seong-yong has been practicing sharing through World Vision since 2008, starting with regular sponsorship for five overseas children and one domestic child.

In 2010, we donated bonuses to participate in the World Cup, and in 2011, we increased the number of children’s sponsorship applications and have been supporting a total of 30 children every year.

In addition, in 2013, after marrying actress Han Hye-jin, who is working as a World Vision ambassador, she donated a congratulatory money to support domestic children’s medical expenses.

In addition, ▲ support for earthquake damage recovery in Nepal, ▲ support for drinking water and sanitation projects in Africa, ▲ building a children’s hospital in Rwanda in Africa, ▲ building an elementary school in Kenya, ▲ support for domestic crisis families and heating costs, ▲ support for overcoming COVID-19, etc. We are practicing sincere sharing for the class.

With this sponsorship, soccer player Ki Sung-yong’s accumulated donations through World Vision amounted to about 3 billion won.

Ki Seong-yong said, “I’ve been earning money from my hard work as a player, but I never thought that it was entirely mine. I have always been donating with the desire to give back to society, but I am grateful and happy to be able to deliver the donation again in the new year. I hope that it will be delivered to children who are nurturing their dreams so that they can dream to their heart’s content.”

He also said, “While donating, I thought that there were a lot of neighbors and children in need around me, and I especially want to support the dreams of children who are ill and those of the vulnerable. I want to,” he said.

In the new year of 2022, Ki Sung-Yong’s donation will be used to support medical expenses for children in crisis in Korea who receive help from World Vision, and for children from disadvantaged classes who dream of becoming soccer players.

World Vision Chairman Cho Myung-hwan said, “I sincerely thank Seong-yong Ki for his sincere participation in sharing so quietly that even when he first formed a relationship with World Vision in 2008, he applied for sponsorship on the website and wrote a handwritten letter to the children himself.” “I will do my best to convey the heart of Ki Seong-yong, who has supported a large amount of close to 3 billion won for 14 years and has been a reliable ‘long-legged uncle’ to children of the vulnerable at home and abroad.”

In addition, he added, “I have given hope to many people through soccer, and I look forward to delivering hope to children through a good influence in the future.”

Meanwhile, actress Ki Seong-yong’s wife, actress Han Hye-jin, has been an ambassador for World Vision since 2007 and has been spreading good influence, and has sponsored about 288 million won so far.
