The national demonstration scheduled for Monday in Brussels against social dumping and “severe attacks on the right to strike“will have a significant impact on public transport in all regions of the country, the various public service companies indicate on their websites. Only SNCB will circulate normally.
The network of STIB will be severely disrupted that day, warns Brussels society, which invites its travelers to “take all the necessary precautions and organize themselves accordingly as far as possible“. Due to the participation in the demonstration of part of the Stib staff, both metro, tram and bus traffic will be affected. In addition, certain surface lines will be disturbed by the passage of the procession. The Stib’s contact center (070/23.20.00) will be open from 6 a.m. on Monday and the Facebook and Twitter pages, as well as the application and the website, will inform travelers in real time.
Disruptions are also to be feared on the network Tec. The active public transport operator in Wallonia therefore invites its travelers to consult the list of deleted routes on its website or to consult the Tec Facebook page. The company also advises its users “to consider an alternative“.
On the side of The line, the Flemish public transport company, approximately 55% of journeys will be insured. Travelers are also advised to consult the company’s website or the route planner here.
The SNCBmeanwhile, does not foresee any impact on rail traffic.
Between 10,000 and 15,000 people are expected in the capital on Monday to protest against social dumping and “severe attacks on the right to strike”, as part of a national demonstration organized by the union common front (CSC, FGTB and CGSLB).
