Soil fertility: the AFD group acts worldwide | AFD

Faced with population growth, agricultural practices and overexploitation of land, half of the world’s arable land is in poor condition, when they are not exhausted. In a context of international tensions since the Covid-19 crisis, prolonged by the Ukrainian conflict, food insecurity is increasing. On the African continent, one in five people now suffer from hunger according to the report Sofi 2023. Preserving and strengthening soil fertility is therefore fundamental to guaranteeing sustainable agricultural production. It is to respond to this emergency and share its expertise on these issues that the AFD group is investing International Agricultural Show (SIA) 2024. But concretely, how is this know-how deployed throughout the world?
