Helena takes a “break” and stays for a few days on a farm in the Bergisches Land, but it is as if the dead are chasing her: she finds no rest, but a corpse. That was it again with the days off without murder and manslaughter. The head of “SOKO Cologne” can of course not ignore this case, but brings her team to the scene.
Where’s Maik?
Helena’s break actually begins very romantically – with a view of wide meadows and idyllic landscapes. Maik Frohnert, who works on the farm, even offers to show her the most beautiful corners of the area, which Helena is happy to accept. But the next morning he suddenly disappeared. His room has been emptied and the farm owner has received a text message that Maik has taken another job in Holland.
The whole thing seems strange to the experienced Commissioner. But after consulting Matti, she decides to enjoy her days off. But when she accidentally steps on Maik’s glasses on the lakeshore, the silence is finally over. A little later, Maik’s body is pulled out of the lake.
What are Monika and Klaus Hettich hiding?
In the course of the investigation, the Hettich family comes into focus. Obviously the farm owner does not have a good relationship with his son. He rejects Enno’s homosexuality and at first sight had brought Maik, a kind of surrogate son, into the farm. However, there are some inconsistencies in this regard.
An expensive camera and 1400 euros in cash are also found on the dead person. A look into his past shows that Maik had to go to jail for several thefts a few years ago. Was he a burglar again in the village and got caught? His current ex-girlfriend Delia Köhler, who visited him at the farm from time to time, also belonged to his criminal clique.
