Sol Ruca is officially set for a rematch against Lyra Valkyria on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, adding another encounter to a card emanating live from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The matchup, scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Netflix, brings two competitors back into the ring following a tense backstage and in-ring escalation on the previous week’s broadcast.
The fixture was confirmed by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce via a social media video released on Sunday. This upcoming clash serves as a direct rematch from their June 8 encounter, where Sol Ruca successfully defended and retained the Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Valkyria. Ruca’s championship reign eventually concluded on July 27 when she dropped the title to Raquel Rodriguez. The tension between Ruca and Valkyria reignited last week after Ruca teamed up with IYO SKY to defeat Women’s Intercontinental Champion Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez. Immediately following the bell, Valkyria confronted Ruca, openly questioning why Ruca felt entitled to another championship opportunity ahead of her in the title picture.
A Packed Monday Night Lineup in Buffalo
Beyond the Sol Ruca and Lyra Valkyria showdown, the KeyBank Center card features major championship defense implications and crucial tournament action. Chad Gable will put the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line against Rey Mysterio. According to reporting from Post Wrestling, Pearce confirmed the title bout following backstage developments on last Monday’s program, where Gable approached Mysterio to offer him a championship opportunity. Mysterio accepted the challenge, stating he still had plenty left in the tank. Gable captured his first WWE singles title at SummerSlam on August 2 by submitting Penta, and his recent television narrative has focused on making amends with opponents he targeted during his time operating as the Original El Grande Americano, including Mysterio.
The broadcast will also host a pair of opening-round matchups in the tournament designed to determine Roman Reigns’ next challenger for the World Heavyweight Championship. Dragon Lee is booked against El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., while Rey Fenix squares off against El Fiscal. The eventual winner of this tournament will advance to challenge Reigns on the September 14 episode of Raw in Mexico City. Penta has already secured his spot in the tournament semifinals after defeating Laredo Kid, while La Parka advanced past Psycho Clown on a Saturday AAA event to set up their upcoming bracket meeting.
Additionally, Jey Uso is scheduled to appear and “hand deliver” Solo Sikoa to Roman Reigns, following Jey’s victory over Solo on the previous week’s show. Reigns is also advertised to make an appearance.
