Solarium in Winterthur catches fire

A fire broke out in a solarium on Tösstalstrasse in Winterthur. A news scout video shows firefighters on the scene attempting to gain access through the roof of the solarium. The emergency services tear the bricks out of the roof, and a chainsaw is also used.

The Zurich cantonal police confirmed the fire. No one was injured, but according to the police, the damage caused amounts to “several tens of thousands of francs”. Around 7 p.m., the fire brigade had largely extinguished the fire, apart from a few smaller sources of fire. How exactly the fire broke out in the solarium remains to be clarified.
