Solomon Islands Prime Minister Sogavare will visit China and the Chinese side will introduce the arrangements and expectations of the visit

On July 6, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced that at the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang, Solomon Islands Prime Minister Menasi Sogavare will pay an official visit to China from July 9 to 15.
At the regular press conference held that day, some reporters asked questions regarding the arrangements for Prime Minister Sogavare’s visit.
Wang Wenbin said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Solomon Islands, the relationship between the two countries has developed rapidly and achieved fruitful results, which has benefited the two peoples and promoted regional peace, stability and development.
This visit is Prime Minister Sogavare’s second visit to China following 4 years, which will definitely inject new impetus into the development of China-Society relations. China is willing to take this visit as an opportunity with Solomon Islands to deepen political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and push China-Society relations to a new level.
During the visit, leaders of the two countries will have an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern. Apart from Beijing, Prime Minister Sogavare will also visit Jiangsu and Guangdong.
