ALGIERS – The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sonelgaz Group, Mourad Adjal received, Monday in Algiers, the Managing Director of TotalEnergies Algeria, Moufdi Zakaria Chikh with whom he examined ways to strengthen cooperation between the two parties and its prospects future, indicates a press release from the Group.
During this meeting which took place at the level of the General Management of Sonelgaz, the two parties discussed their interest in establishing a partnership in the fields of renewable energies and electricity storage, as well as the development of electrical interconnection, in addition to the possibilities for exchanging expertise in the above-mentioned areas, specifies the press release.
The meeting “is part of the policy adopted by Sonelgaz aimed at developing the Group’s external partnership relations”, adds the same source.
Furthermore, the CEO of Sonelgaz held, on Monday, a meeting by videoconference with the general director of the company Energie du Mali (EDM), Abdoulaye Djibril Diallo, with whom he discussed the ways and means of relaunching the partnership between Sonelgaz and the EDM.
This meeting, which took place in the presence of senior executives of the two companies, “is part of the relaunch of Sonelgaz’s level of foreign partnership at the continental level”, according to the public group’s press release.
During the meeting, Mr. Adjal highlighted Sonelgaz’s interest in relaunching cooperation with EDM, emphasizing “its commitment to concretizing on the ground the previous negotiations relating to the file of cooperation in the areas of energy between the two companies, thanks to the expertise enjoyed by Sonelgaz in electricity production and electricity and gas transport, maintenance, training and digitalization to benefit the neighboring country Mali. .
The CEO of Sonelgaz proposed that the start of this partnership be materialized by the signing of a draft cooperation memorandum which was developed at Sonelgaz level, to constitute “the fundamental basis” according to which this partnership will be built and “the first stone” to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in the different areas of energy.
