Recently, service users PlayStation Plus i PlayStation Now reported about the difficulty with renewing the subscription. People could not activate prepaid cards with codes in PSNas Sony allegedly blocked the ability to combine subscriptions.
Today, the company updated the PlayStation Plus page, officially confirming the information received on the site. At the same time, Sony noted that the situation did not arise due to an error – this is an official ban. There was a message in the FAQ section that the codes cannot be used until the current subscription expires or until the updated service is launched in the region.
Thus, the company does not allow to increase the term of a cheap membership in the service by activating many old codes before introducing changes in payment terms.
Recall that from June 22 in Europe, the payment scheme for PlayStation Plus will change. The service will be split into three categories, Essential, Extra, and Premium, with old service subscribers moving to Essential, while current PlayStation Now members will be automatically upgraded to the latest, most expensive distribution model.
