[Reposted]This is the “Star “S5-HVS1” that flew out of the galactic center at high speed” This is an imaginary drawing.

S5-HVS1 has been found to be moving at an incredible speed of 1,700 km per second, which is 10 times faster than other stars in the Milky Way Galaxy, or 6 million km per hour. (Research results as of 2019)

S5-HVS1 is approximately 29,000 light-years from Earth, which is relatively close on the scale of the universe, so the research team was able to track where it came from.

The analysis revealed that S5-HVS1 may have been ejected from Sagittarius A*, a supermassive black hole located at the center of the Milky Way, about 4.8 million years ago.

Stars like this that move much faster than other stars are called “hypervelocity stars.”
