The management of the Marrakech International Film Festival announced that the jury of its 19th session, which will be held from November 11-19, will be chaired by Italian director Paolo Sorrentino.
“The Marrakech Festival for me is the place where my dream of watching many films with Martin Scorsese and spending whole days talking about cinema with him and with other colleagues who are no less talented, came true. My return this year to the festival as head of the jury is a great honor for me, I believe and even want to believe that the cinemas will be filled again, and I have the firm conviction that the audience will soon discover many great films.”
This is what Sorrentino said, adding: “To be a witness to this new awakening from this very symbolic position, and to discover tomorrow’s cinema from a cultural and geographical point of view of great importance, is for me an additional beautiful gift.”
