NAIROBI (Archyde.com) – Ethiopian government and allied forces have captured Shire, one of the largest cities in the northern Tigray region, from the region’s forces, two sources, one a diplomat and the other from humanitarian aid, said.
The Ethiopian Federal Government and allied forces, including the Eritrean army, have been fighting the Tigrayan forces from time to time since 2020.
The conflict has killed thousands of civilians and displaced millions, hundreds of thousands of whom now face potential famine.
