Defending champions South Africa are back in the final of the Rugby World Cup. The Springboks prevailed in a dramatic semi-final defeat against England 17:16 (6:12) on Saturday evening. South Africa will face New Zealand in the final at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis next Saturday. The “All Blacks” easily prevailed against Argentina on Friday. The winner of the final will be crowned world champion for the fourth time.

The English team, who had been flawless at the previous World Cup, were ahead 15-6 in the new edition of the 2019 final after a drop goal from captain Owen Farrell and were therefore on course for the final. But the South African final offensive was successful. A try from RG Snyman brought the Boks close before Handre Pollard put the reigning world champions ahead for the first time in the game with a penalty kick. The three-time world champion couldn’t miss this anymore.
