(CNN) — South Korea and the US on Friday conducted a strike exercise in response to the North Korean intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launchaccording to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea.
The South Korean Air Force’s F-35A stealth jets demonstrated their ability to secretly approach and precisely strike the target without being detected, JCS said.
Four South Korean F-35A jets and four US F-16 jets also flew in a combined strike formation over the waters off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula, JCS said.
Through these drills, South Korea and the US demonstrated their “strong willingness to sternly respond to any threat and provocation, including North Korea’s ICBM, and the ally’s overwhelming ability to accurately target the enemy.” J.C.S. added.
