The victim was streaming live on YouTube to his nearly 4,000 subscribers from outside a court in Busan. He had reached the court on the occasion of a trial. The person accused of the attack came to his back and attacked him with a knife.

Police reached the spot around 10 am on Thursday. The victim’s heart had stopped beating. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead regarding an hour later.

The suspect in the attack fled the scene in a rental car but was arrested shortly following in the city of Gyeongju in North Gyeongsang Province.

The name of the victim and the accused have not been disclosed.

According to a report by Korea Jong Ung Daily, the police suspect that the attack was planned.

The accused has regarding eight thousand subscribers on YouTube. The accused had allegedly bought a sharp instrument from a supermarket and hired a car a day earlier.

After the attack, he posted in the community section of his channel, ‘I want to apologize to my subscribers who have taken care of me and supported me. But I cannot forgive someone who tried to destroy the happiness of others. I will not make any excuses. I will take responsibility for my actions.’

According to reports, the two YouTubers, both in their 50s, had been feuding for regarding three years, due to ‘unresolved legal disputes’.

The two YouTubers had arrived at the court to attend the hearing of a case filed by the victim on a complaint of physical assault and defamation.
