Southern Lebanon Border Tensions and Escalation: Latest Updates and Diplomatic Efforts to Reduce Escalation

South Lebanon is witnessing a cautious calm along the border, interspersed with intermittent Israeli artillery shelling on the eastern sector area, where the Marjayoun Plain and Hamamus Hill were subjected to artillery shelling.

Intensive flights of military and reconnaissance aircraft were observed in the skies of southern Lebanon, according to what our correspondent said.

At night, the outskirts of the towns of Ramia, Aita al-Shaab, and Naqoura were subjected to artillery shelling and a sweep of the border with machine guns, while flare bombs were thrown over several villages in the central and western sectors.

Yesterday, Friday, Hezbollah announced the implementation of 3 operations against Israeli sites.

On Friday, Israeli aircraft, drones and artillery targeted more than 20 southern towns.

Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, said, “When the Israelis decide to expand the war, they will receive a big blow, and when they remain at the current pace, we will remain, and the support will be achieved in this amount.”

These threats come hours after statements by Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Israeli officials about expanding the war in Lebanon.

Israeli media reported on Friday evening that Israel had informed Washington that an operation against Hezbollah was inevitable unless an agreement was reached.

It is expected that Beirut will witness new rounds of Western and European diplomats and officials in an attempt to reduce the escalation in the south between Hezbollah and Israel.
