SpaceX tests internet that works across the planet via Starlink satellite

SpaceX has been experimenting with a new internet service to work across planet Earth. The initiative will be called “Global Roaming Service” and would operate via satellite, through Starlink.

Elon Musk’s company even sent emails to customers on the waiting list, who wait to test in front of others. The package costs US$ 200 per month, according to information from PCMag, plus the need to pay the import fee for the kit, at a cost of US$ 200, with antenna, accessories and router.

Even with the tests and the expansion of the company’s constellation, the global internet plan has not yet been contemplated with the authorization of regular users in markets considered important, as is the case of India.

For now, SpaceX has a similar service. Subscribers pay a monthly fee of US$ 25 so that the same antenna can be used on international trips, but within the same continent as the registration. This is because there is a rule that restricts the use of the equipment for a long period of time away from the primary address.

It is worth remembering that, in early February of this year, SpaceX launched 53 new Starlink satellites during the 200th flight of the Falcon 9 rocket. So far, the constellation has received 3,875 satellites in Earth orbit.

So, do you believe that this global internet via satellite could be a good idea for the future? Share your opinion with us!
