A few days ago, Spanish police intervened to free a crypto wallet manager who was being held against his will and at gunpoint by a group of kidnappers.

According to Nius Diary, a local media, the manager was captured by three assailants who did not hesitate to keep a weapon pointed against the head of the latter. The gang of thugs later demanded a ransom of approximately 1.1 million euros to release the manager, while threatening to execute him if he refuses.

National police officers said they were alerted when one of the victim’s acquaintances phoned a Spanish police station from Budapest, in Hungary. According to law enforcement, this acquaintance announced that they had received audio and video files constituting evidence that the manager was being held against his will and threatened with a weapon.

In one of the images made available to the public by the police force, it is possible to see that the victim is held face down with a handgun pointed against his face.

For some unknown reason, the kidnappers appear to have made a serious mistake, in that they let the victim have access to his phone long enough for him to organize his own rescue.

The manager is managed to take a photo of the exterior of the building in which he was a prisoner. He then sent this photo to a close friend who in turn shared it with the police.

Thanks to this photo, the members of the police force were first able to identify the neighborhood and then to precisely locate the building where the manager was. Thus, they discovered that the manager was held in a luxurious villa located in the vicinity of Benalmádena in Málaga, a city in southern Spain.

Only five hours after receiving the photo, the police were already on site as part of their intervention.

Aerial videos showed the presence of elite units surrounding and storming the building, as well as the presence of handcuffed suspects on the ground outside the villa.

The police said that manager walked away with superficial injuries and some bruises.

The Police revealed that the criminals seem to have prepared their operation meticulously and were also armed with two firearms, one of which was equipped with a silencer.

It should be noted that the police also indicated that they had arrested three suspects present on the spot as part of their intervention. The suspects are named as from Greece and Albaniaand declared that they were respectively aged 35, 36 and 54. The suspects were prosecuted for kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms and assault with violence.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a stash with what appeared to be material intended for torture namely a room that had been covered with plastic sheeting, disposable gloves, pruning shears and a whole series of blades as well as different saw models.
