The opening kickoff was preceded by the Czech national anthem, which was sung by the wife of Slavist midfielder Masopust Hana. The guests could take the lead in the seventh minute. Laci picked up Ogbu’s back pass to goalkeeper Mandous and passed to Tuci, who, however, headed wide in a neck-breaking position. After less than half an hour, Tuci took the ball away from Zim and the guests went into the break two on one, but the Albanian player solved it with an unsuccessful pass.

In the 39th minute, Slavia struck. Chytil surpassed Sörensen in the duel, got outnumbered and passed to Schranz, who was not prevented by the catching Danish stopper from successfully finishing into Vorl’s counter move. The Slovakian representative scored the sixth competitive goal of the season. In the setup of the opening act, Mandous took Birmačevič’s shot from a free kick.

The Red and Whites entered the second half actively and after less than two minutes Sparta bounced back. Masopust’s ground shot from beyond the box was still managed by Vorel, but he was not entitled to Diouf’s prompt stop. The 19-year-old Senegalese scored the second goal in the third competitive match for Slavia.

In the 55th minute, the guests reduced the score. Ogbu missed a kick from one of the Spartans and Olatunji ended the break with a shot at the back post. A quarter of an hour later, the Nigerian striker equalized. Preciado ran behind the defense, Krejčí did not reach his pass, but the ball went to Olatunji, who again made no mistake with a quick shot to the back post. He scored for the sixth time in the competitive year, but for the first time in the summer jersey he managed to score two goals in one match.

In the 78th minute, Wallem’s bouncing shot in front of the penalty area was blocked by Vorel. The match had to go to extra time. In his introduction, Ševčík caught Ryneš’s pass and visiting stopper Panák tipped Tijani’s shot onto the post. In the 99th minute, substitute home defender Vlček elbowed Olatunji in the face in the penalty area, but the referee did not award a penalty.

In the 110th minute, Vlček against Karabec played a handball in the penalty area, but the referee Rouček did not whistle the penalty kick. Only after the break did the video referee enter the game and Rouček changed his original verdict. Karabec took the responsibility, who converted the penalty without hesitation. He scored for the fifth time in the competitive season.

Slavia could still equalize in the set-up, but another incoming player from the bench, Tijani, headed over from a free kick from the edge of the box. In the seventh minute of regulation, substitute Zelený was sent off after a second yellow card, but the visitors had already defended the progress.
