Sparti: The 40-year-old accused of raping his 9-year-old daughter is on remand

With the unanimous decision of the prosecutor and the investigator, the 40-year-old man accused of raping his minor daughter in Sparta was remanded in custody. The case has caused shock and outrage in the local community, as the accused has admitted to sexual acts with the child since the age of 4, but denies the charge of rape.

The defendant’s plea was given under draconian security measures in the courts, as an angry crowd of about 50 people had gathered outside the building. Protesters, angered by the revelations, shouted slogans and demanded justice for the minor victim.

After the pre-trial detention decision, the accused fled the courthouse with a police operation, in order to avoid incidents and ensure his safety. The police forces, who were on alert, escorted the accused to the police cage, which took him to the prisons where he will remain in custody until the trial of the case.

The local community remains on edge, with residents expressing anger and frustration at the revelations surrounding the case. The authorities are continuing the investigation to fully elucidate the circumstances and details of this tragic incident, while at the same time providing support and protection to the accused’s minor daughter and the rest of the family.
