Two matches, two victories and qualification for the semi-finals, Ambri continues his flawless run at the Spengler Cup. For their last game in the Torriani group, the Leventines prevailed 7-3 against Helsinki to secure the 1st place in the group.
As during their 1st participation in 2019, the Leventines have therefore reached the last four, thanks to their 2nd consecutive victory which allows them to finish at the top of their group. This meeting was the most fertile in goals since the start of the competition.
Ambri laid the foundation for its success in the initial period. Successes from Pestoni (6th) and McMillan (11th) put the biancoblu on the right track. Chlapik added the number three (23rd) in the second half but the Finns closed the gap 43 seconds later before coming back to a length (30th).
Kneubühler (33rd) and Spacek (43rd) breathed new life into the Ticino formation and despite the reduction in the score of Naettinen (44th) Heim (54th) and Kneubühler again (57th) then gave the score a clearer scale.
