Vienna – A few days before the Lower Austrian state elections, the SPÖ presented an anti-inflation package, which will be discussed and voted on on Wednesday at the special session of the National Council by means of an “urgent motion”. This ranges from suspending the CO2 tax to freezing benchmark and category rents to a gas price cap for businesses and households. Value added tax on groceries for everyday needs is also to fall temporarily.
