SPÖ-NEOS initiative passed by the Federal Council in the Constitutional Committee as an all-party proposal

Vienna (OTS/SK) – After today’s Constitutional Committee of the National Council, Federal Councilors Sascha Obrecht (SPÖ) and Karl-Arthur Arlamovsky (NEOS) are particularly pleased that their joint initiative against unlawful salaries of state secretaries has now been approved as an all-party motion. This will prevent a situation in the future such as the illegally increased salaries of the black-green state secretaries for months. After Obrecht and Arlamovsky revealed these salaries, the state secretaries paid back a total of 15,000 euros in tax money.****

Sascha Obrecht: “With this adjustment, there will no longer be any illegal remuneration for state secretaries in the future. Our initiative increases transparency and clearly discloses responsibilities.”

Karl-Arthur Arlamovsky: “The secrecy surrounding the state secretaries is finally over. I am pleased that our legislative initiative has also convinced the government parties.” (Conclusion) sd/pok
