Sporting is working on the Ronaldo deal – probably the only option for loan

There is at least one serious prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo: Sporting Lisbon. The transfer of the superstar means a financial tour de force for the Portuguese.

Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to be one of the most talked about names on the transfer market.

He is back in Manchester and played his first test match in the 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano. But nothing has changed in his intentions to change.

The problem: The 37-year-old cannot find a buyer. Ronaldo is simply too expensive for most European clubs.

Sporting thinks of loan

“There wasn’t a single offer for him, not even a tender request,” Melissa Reddy says Sky Sports UK to know.

Ronaldo’s last hope is Sporting Lisbon. He trained at the Portuguese club’s youth academy before moving to Manchester United at the age of 18. With the Portuguese runners-up, he could also play in the Champions League next season.

The catch: Even for Sporting, the transfer fee and salary are currently not manageable. Nevertheless, the Portuguese want to leave no stone unturned.

To Sky Sporting is currently trying to realize at least one loan. Sporting planning the Ronaldo deal.

“Unacceptable”: Ten Hag criticizes Ronaldo after fleeing the stadium

Quaresma before moving to Hoffenheim

However, the successful implementation of this plan is still a long way off. One thing is certain: In order to be able to finance the deal, some players from the current squad have to be handed over.

And TSG Hoffenheim is helping with that. The German Bundesliga side are close to signing centre-back Eduardo Quaresma.

To Sky Info he is already in Germany. The 20-year-old was considered one of the greatest defensive talents two years ago. Most recently, however, he was loaned out by Sporting to CD Tondela and was relegated with that club.

Its market value is currently five million euros. Whether Hoffenheim’s support will ultimately lead to the hoped-for goal is uncertain.

ManUnited don’t want to give up Ronaldo

The biggest hurdle in Sporting’s proposed Ronaldo deal remains Manchester United.

What ten Hag recently emphasized still applies: “Cristiano Ronaldo is not for sale.” Ronaldo’s loan is also not on the agenda for the Red Devils, as they would probably not find a replacement for the top scorer.

After all, he scored 18 goals last Premier League season. If the star striker stays, however, Zoff is inevitable.

Review by Ten Hag

That was indicated in the test against Vallecano when Ronaldo left the stadium prematurely. Ten Hag reprimanded Ronaldo afterwards.

“I can not accept this. “This is unacceptable. For all. We are a team and you have to persevere to the end,” the coach told the Dutch sports portal Viaplay Sport.
