Spotify confirms that its Hi-Fi audio service is delayed until further notice

At the beginning of last year, the audio streaming giant we know as Spotify, announced to the world that very soon it would offer its music service Hi-Fi, which in a nutshell means lossless audio.

But the year 2021 is over and we still have no news from Spotify. Some media suggest that Spotify had to delay the launch after Apple Music released its lossless audio catalog with Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos for all its users, without charging more.

Then it was Amazon’s turn with its Amazon Music service who also launched its Hi-Fi service at no additional cost. All of the above could have delayed Spotify because they apparently were going to charge additional to the Premium plan to access their Hi-Fi catalog.

When will Spotify launch its Hi-Fi service?

Well, Spotify has come out to answer the delay that its expected Hi-Fi service has had and this is what they have responded:

We know that Hi-Fi quality audio is important to you. We feel the same way, and we are excited to offer a Spotify Hi-Fi experience to Premium users in the future. But we don’t have time details to share yet. Of course, we will update you here when we can.

As you will see, dear reader, Spotify has not delivered any close date, in addition to confirming that the service when it is available will be only for users with the Premium subscription, so perhaps users of the free service would be left out of this function.

Hopefully Spotify can give a date for its Hi-Fi service again.
