„tom odell“ was born in November 1990 in Chichester, England. As a child he learned classical piano and began writing songs at the age of 13. At the age of 18 he moved to Brighton to study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute, and at the same time he played in a band called Tom and the Tides. He later decided to be a solo artist, was discovered by Lily Allen, got a record deal and was able to release his first EP “Songs from Another Love” in October 2012.
