Spring is the most beautiful time of the year, for the brocade space to bloom brilliantly. Brocade of the Bana Kriem people carries the beauty of innocence and purity.

The brocade weaving profession of the Bana Kriem people in the villages of Ha Ri, Thanh Quang, Ta Let, Vinh Hiep commune (Vinh Thanh district), was once very prosperous, established for hundreds of years in mountainous hamlets and villages. High land.

Up to now, the Bana Kriem people still preserve the brocade weaving profession in association with local tourism development.

According to Mr. Yang Danh – Branch Head of Binh Dinh Ethnic Minorities Literature and Arts Branch – Folklore researcher, since the Party and Uncle Ho were established, brocade weaving is like cloth. Realizing the importance of brocade sets, in 1955, meeting ethnic minority officials from the South to the North, Uncle Ho asked the Government to make a set of traditional costumes of each ethnic group to give to the people. officers. Mr. Dinh Ton, a Bana Kriem native, was honored to receive this gift.

Currently, the traditional shirt of the Bana Kriem people given by Uncle Ho is still kept at the Binh Dinh Provincial Museum.

“In addition to the common traditional costumes, there are also unique identities, unique materials, unique designs and patterns of each ethnic group and region. When looking at the costumes, you can recognize which ethnic group and where they are from. ? This is the honor and pride of every nation living in Vietnam,” Mr. Yang Danh said.

Bana Kriem artisans all know how to make tools and processes in brocade looms to weave and embroider to create fabric products and traditional costumes such as blankets, dresses, shirts, and turbans.

It’s not just seniors who like to wear traditional costumes. About 80% of students in boarding schools and ethnic minority boarding schools all have traditional costumes and often wear them on the occasion of saluting the flag every Monday; or on holidays and festivals organized by the school.
