The start of meteorological spring is not exceptionally beautiful but it is already much more positive than the last month of winter. February thus broke records for lack of light and was rainier than average. And it’s not the record softness that could have saved the day. For the month of March, the signals are more positive, starting with this second week of vacation.
Weather: a dry Monday with seasonal temperatures
This Monday, the day was bright and we reached thirteen degrees in certain regions. “The week will be positive overall, but we will still be a little disturbed by a depression this Tuesday. It won’t rain much but it will be cooler, says Pascal Mormal, meteorologist at IRM. Fortunately, a continental flow will return on Wednesday and we will be treated to three beautiful days with sunshine and twelve, thirteen, even fifteen degrees in places. You will just have to pay attention to the nights which will remain cool as well as the mornings. We are also expecting frosts during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday.”
Another record winter is ending, what can we expect for spring? “We’ll have to wait a little longer…”
For the weekend, on the other hand, we will return to more average weather. “It will be more mixed, with the return of rain but in limited quantities,” specifies the meteorologist.
And what’s next for spring? “There is no winter signal, nor any major rainy signal for the next ten to fifteen days,” he assures. You don’t have to wait for twenty degrees and continuous sunshine either, but the month of March promises to be a little milder than average and normally rainy, or even a little less. For the rest of spring, the trend seems to be the same for April and May. We cannot swear that there will no longer be a night frost or even a few flakes; it can snow in May in Belgium but the overall trend is not at all that winter is returning.”
